That’s right, an all-electric disengageable tractor drive that disengages from the crane rail when the drive is not needed.
A breakthrough in electric crane drive technology, this innovation offers increased flexibility, faster movement, and zero need for pneumatic systems, making it an ideal upgrade for bridge cranes and other crane systems.
What Makes the Electric Disengageable Tractor Drive Different?
Traditionally, all tractors that drive a crane in North-South-East-West directions are engaged against the rail all the time…so if you want to pull the hoist in a free-wheeling state, you can’t. You’re stuck pressing buttons until you can move to your destination.
Our AT air tractors solved that years ago with a disengage feature, but that meant introducing air to many cranes that could have been all-electric. Now, for the first time, you can disengage electrically too.

Here’s How the Electric Tractor Drive for Cranes Works:
- Select Momentary Engage on the pendant.
- Press North.
- The drive wheel moves up to make contact with the rail while the wheel begins to turn.
- The hoist is driven North.
- Release the North button and the wheel moves down away from the rail.
- Now the hoist rolls freely for rapid travel, wherever you need to go.
Alternatively, you can select Continuous Engage and the wheel presses against the rail all the time.
